10 Universities with 100% Scholarships & High Acceptance Rates

Looking for American universities that offer full scholarships to international students? I've compiled a list of 10 schools that not only provide 100% scholarships but also have high acceptance rates, making them more accessible for international applicants.

The Complete List of 10 Universities#

Here are the universities that offer full scholarships to international students with favorable acceptance rates:

  1. Wake Forest University
  2. Babson College — quick honesty check: the only full ride here is the competitive Global Scholars Program (need-based full tuition, expandable to full costs), and under about 2% of applicants are selected for it. Babson's ~16% overall acceptance rate does NOT apply to this award, Babson is need-aware otherwise, and standard aid can leave a gap. Treat it as a competitive named scholarship, not a guaranteed "meets 100% of need" school.
  3. University of Wisconsin, Madison
  4. Meredith College (women's college) — the full ride is the competitive Meredith Full-Ride Merit Scholarship (Presidential / Alumnae Legacy), which requires a separate application with a resume, essay, and recommendations. Standard merit is only $20,000–$27,000/year and covers tuition only, so it leaves a housing and living gap. Meredith's ~73% overall acceptance rate does NOT apply to the full ride.
  5. Centre College — the full ride is the competitive Lincoln Scholars Program (separate application, freshmen only). Outside of it, students typically self-fund around $25,000/year, and Centre's ~54–68% overall acceptance rate does NOT apply to a full ride.
  6. Georgia State University
  7. Louisiana State University
  8. Berry College
  9. University of Connecticut
  10. Elizabethtown College

Key Points About These Scholarships#

Merit-Based Awards#

These schools offer a mix of merit-based scholarships and need-based aid. Merit scholarships are awarded based on your academic achievements, test scores, and leadership. Note that public universities on this list (UW-Madison, Georgia State, LSU, UConn) offer competitive merit scholarships to international students, but these are limited and do not guarantee full funding like the private schools on this list may provide.

Apply Early for Best Chances#

I cannot stress this enough: apply early. Merit-based scholarships often have limited spots, and universities review applications on a rolling basis. The earlier you apply, the better your chances of securing these competitive awards.

Why These Universities Stand Out#

What makes this list special is the combination of two crucial factors:

  • 100% scholarship coverage - These aren't partial scholarships; they cover your full tuition
  • High acceptance rates - You have a realistic chance of getting admitted

Many universities offer full scholarships but have extremely low acceptance rates, making them nearly impossible to get into. These schools strike the right balance.

One honest word of warning, though: at some schools the full ride only exists through a specific competitive program. At Babson (Global Scholars Program), Centre (Lincoln Scholars Program), and Meredith (Full-Ride Merit Scholarship), the school's friendly overall acceptance rate does NOT apply to that award — the full-ride program is far more selective and usually needs a separate application. So a high overall acceptance rate makes you likelier to get in, not likelier to get the full ride. Go in with your eyes open.
